Please outline your experience and involvement with LG Professionals WA and the WA Local Government Sector.
Since March 2019, I have been the Executive Manager Human Resources at the City of Vincent where I lead our people and culture initiatives with a focus on building a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace. My role covers workforce strategy, organisational development, WHS and employee wellbeing, and creating an environment where our staff can thrive.
I am actively engaged in the Western Australian local government sector and have attended many LG Professionals Wa events over the years, particularly those centred on workforce, professional development, and leadership. These opportunities have allowed me to connect with peers, share experiences, and continue to build capability within the sector.
In 2023, I introduced the Ignite Leadership Program in partnership with LG Professionals WA as an in-house initiative at the City of Vincent. This program has given our emerging leaders the opportunity to grow their skills and contribute more confidently to the organisations future direction.
Through my work and involvement with the sector, I remain committed to developing people, driving organisational improvement, and contributing to a stringer, more collaorative local government community in Western Australia.
Please outline your reasons in nominating to be a Board Member of LG Professionals WA.
I am nominating for a position on the LG Professionals WA Board because I want to contribute my expertise to the broader local government community and support the Association in deivering ongoing value to the sector and its members.
As a Board Member, I will focus on contributing stratgeically, helping to shape the Association's lon term vision, identify opportunities and risks, and ensure that its goals remain relevant to the evolving needs of the sector. I am passionate about strengthening the Assocaition's advocacy for local government and its officers, and ensuring our collective voice continues to influence and support the future direction of the profession.
I bring a collaborative and solutions focused approach, underpinned by experience in leadership, stakeholder engagement and training and evelopment. I believe in riaisng insights from members across both regional and metropolitan areas to ensure balanced representation and decision-making.
Through this role, I aim to help the Board work cohesively to enhance the Association's impac by supporting innovation in professional development, championing inclusion and connection, and supporting the Association to focus on building the capability of the local government workforce across Western Australia.
Please outline your skills and qualities that would help to enhance the Association as a Board Member.
I bring a strong combination of strategic thinking, governance experience, and a deep understanding othe local government sector. My background enables me to contribute effectively to the Board's core responsibilities of setting startegy and vision, identifying and managing organisational risks, and guiding the ling-term sustainability of the Association.
I have extensive experience in leadership, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, which supports the Board's advocacy and communication role. I am skilled at analysing complex issues, building consensus, and communicating clearly with diverse audiences, qualities essenital for effective representation of members's interests and advancing the Association's goals.
My collaborative approach and commitment to inclusion ensure that I work constructively with fellow Board members to make informed, balanced decisions. I am also deeply committed to raising insights from across the sector, both regional and metropolitan to ensure the Board remains connected to the needs and priorities of all members.
Overall, I offer sound judegement, integrity, and a solutions-focused mindset. I aim to contribute to a cohesive, forward-thinkinh Board that strengthens the Association's strategy, supports innovation, and continues to deliver value to members.
Please outline your priorities if successfully elected as a Board Member of LG Professionals WA.
If elected, my focus will be on supporting the Board to guide LG Professionals WA's strategy, governance and advocacy. I will contibute to programs and initiatives that build skills, leadership, and capability across the local government workforce.
I will ensure the voices of both regional and metropolitan councils are represented, promoting equitable access to professional development and networking opportunities.
