Sing, Swing and Mingle: bridging generations creates connections in the City of Fremantle
In the bustling heart of Fremantle, where history meets modernity, a thoughtful initiative is fostering a more inclusive and vibrant community for older residents. Driven by the City of Fremantle, in collaboration with the Department of Communities and the Town of East Fremantle, this Age Friendly Communities Grant funded project has infused new energy into the City's efforts to create spaces where everyone, regardless of age, feels welcome and valued.

At the heart of this initiative is 'Sing, Swing and Mingle', an event which City of Fremantle Community Development Officer Kay Raymond describes as embodying the spirit of intergenerational connection. Recounting the genesis of the event, Kay said the initial idea emerged from discussions with seniors and a retired school teacher who yearned to reconnect with children.
