Asset Management Workshop Series

Simplifying Asset Management

About the Workshop

This one-day workshop is aimed at helping local government professionals better understand asset management, how it fits within and truly integrates with Integrated Strategic Planning and how it will help your local government and community make key decisions.

The Workshop will cover:
  • How asset management helps your community
  • Understanding the essentials of asset management
  • Roles and responsibilities (including Council) in asset management (who does what?)
  • How to implement asset management
  • Understanding the costs
  • Using asset management for decision-making
  • Understanding and using the Level of Service
Who should attend?
Early efforts in asset management under IPR have been largely focused on developing plans based on asset inventory. However, local governments want to understand how to better utilise asset management to make informed decisions and manage levels of service in the most cost effective way.

This workshop is a refresher for CEOs, senior Officers and Asset Professionals and provides an understanding of ways in which you can achieve better asset management outcomes for your local government.

The workshop provides an ideal introduction for employees and elected members new to asset management, through the use of detailed explanations of the key principles and by providing an opportunity for local governments to foster cross organisational understanding.

The workshop is the perfect learning opportunity for elected members who want to better use asset management to help them meet their governance and leadership obligations to the community.
