Many organisations have a set of values, however, for many these are just seen on the wall, not consciously lived in a truely values-led culture. Values-driven leadership is at its best when the organisations values are embodied by leadership and embraced by the entire organisation. Whilst different situations require different leadership styles, values-driven leaders will always align values with behaviour.
In this session, we will explore values-led leadership, learning more about what it is and hear case studies and perspectives from those who are actively working in this space.
Sarah Pierson, Manager Governance and Corporate Services at the City of Busselton will provide us with an overview of the leadership development programs the City has invested in to build values-led leadership at all levels. Joining Sarah will be Ricky Russell, Waste Facilities Leading Hand, to provide a personal perspective on his development through a ‘depot’ leadership development program.
Jonathan Throssell, CEO at the Shire of Mundaring, will contribute a CEO perspective on values-led leadership and share the lessons learnt in the Shire’s (continuing) journey in implementing a values based organisational culture.
Carrie Puzzar, Principal Consultant with Carrie & Co, will provide an overview on the current thought leadership on values-led and authentic leadership.
