Local Government Professionals Australia WA is seeking an events and administration professional with a passion for planning, an eye for innovation and a flair for focusing on member satisfaction for a one-year, full time parental leave cover position.

This role would suit a recent graduate who is able to hit the ground running in an often fast-paced environment with a passion for the role that will see you involved in a variety of tasks.

Working closely with a warm and professional internal team, plus association members and networks, you'll be trusted to plan and assist with excellent-quality association events and conferences and support the Programs and Stakeholder Manager with researching and recommending conference themes and topics, presenters, and venues for LG Professionals WA events.

Your strong stakeholder relationship skills will position you as excellent support for our networks through scheduling and attending network meetings, executing professional development opportunities, and facilitating connections between network members, all with a focus on advancing our member-centric culture and embracing continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering events, conferences and workshops
  • Preparing event materials, including working with graphic designers
  • Gathering feedback from attendees to consider suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Managing the annual events calendar
  • Providing network support through planning events, scheduling and attending regular network meetings and strengthening relationships and connections.

Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including strong customer service skills, and the ability to problem-solve and negotiate while maintaining and strengthening relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy skills in relevant software (Microsoft Office and events management software - iMIS is an advantage)
  • Flexibility to assist at events scheduled outside business hours, plus own transport
  • Experience in local government or a professional association is a plus.
