About this position

The focus of this position is to undertake engineering designs, cost estimates, and to prepare specifications for roads, drainage and other infrastructure projects at design stage. In this position you will work alongside a professional team with Engineering Services and your knowledge and experience will add value to our team and assist in the delivery of design projects for the community.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Thorough knowledge of road and drainage design, current best practice and standards.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Civil Site Design, and related design software.
  • Understanding of project management principles and practices and ability to prepare reports.
  • Understanding of the basic principles of road and drainage design.
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of a small team, exercising initiative and sound judgement to proactively contribute to the business unit.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualification in Engineering (Diploma level as a minimum) or progression towards a degree in Engineering.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
