Level 6 - $118,743.47 per annum (including $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance)

The Role
Share your passion for libraries, literacy, history, and connection as you lead a dynamic, community minded library team.

In this position you will continue the delivery of a contemporary modern library service and facilities, with a strong focus on technology, community programs and the preservation of local history. While effectively leading a diverse team you will foster a commitment to a customer service culture which prioritises communication, consultation and cooperation. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the design and functionality of a new library facility which is set to be constructed over the next five years.

The Senior Librarian is also responsible for the management of the library budget, policies and processes while developing a clear strategic direction for the Town of Port Hedland libraries.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for this role, as well as possess:

  • Relevant University qualification in Library or Information Studies
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current 'C' class drivers licence
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Working with Children Card or willing to obtain
  • First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
