Gender Balance Framework Committee - Expressions of Interest

LG professionals WA is excited to announce the opportunity for passionate individuals to contribute to the ongoing work of our Gender Balance Framework Committee.

Over the past few years, the Gender Balance Framework Committee has played a pivotal role in advancing gender balance within our sector. The dedication and hard work of our current committee members has been instrumental in the positive changes we’ve witnessed. The results of our recent gender balance survey indicate an overall improvement in gender balance perceptions across the local government sector, showcasing the impact of the Committee’s initiatives.

However, there is still work to be done. We recognise the importance of sustained effort and fresh perspectives to drive further progress. We are now inviting expressions of interest from members who are committed to addressing gender balance issues and shaping the future of the local government sector.

If you are passionate about fostering an inclusive workplace, advocating for diversity, and contributing to the development of initiatives that promote gender balance, we encourage you to put yourself forward as a prospective member of the Gender Balance Framework Committee.

Key responsibilities of the Gender Balance Framework Committee include:
1. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that promote gender balance.
2. Participating in regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and new opportunities.
3. Providing insights and expertise to shape the committee’s strategic direction.
4. Actively engaging with LG Professionals WA members and the broader community to raise awareness and promote positive change.

To express your interest in joining the Gender Balance Framework Committee, please submit a brief statement outlining your experience, and motivation for joining the committee via email to [email protected] by Monday 29 January 2024.

We are excited about the prospect of welcoming new committee members who share our commitment to advancing gender balance in the local government sector and we look forward to receiving your expression of interest.
